‘Very good’ private client team wins praise from Chambers 2021

The wills, trusts and estates team has won further independent praise, with Chambers and Partners UK Guide 2021 highlighting its capability and strength.

The team, which handles both contentious and non-contentious matters from individuals and families across the UK, was praised for its work in high net worth matters in particular.

Chambers cites the team – named as Private Client Team of the Year at the Northern Law Awards 2019 –  as being “very good…very professional and efficient” and among the leading advisors in its field in the region.

The praise from Chambers comes only weeks after similar findings from the Legal 500 Guide 2021, which also highlighted the team’s work in complex and contentious matters.

Paul Nickalls, head of department, is again named as one of the leading private client lawyers in the North, with wills, estate administration and inheritance tax planning in high net worth matters being among his strengths.

“Wonderful” senior associate Emma Saunders, a leading specialist in contentious work nationally, is again named as an Associate to Watch.

“I have found Emma to be very understanding, transparent and committed to my case. She is very good at explaining the law and looking at alternative ways to deal with the issues,” cites one testimonial.

Christopher Welch, managing partner of Sintons, said: “Our private client team is regularly instructed in complex, high value matters from around the UK, due to its deep expertise and first-rate client service. We have an excellent mix of significant experience and emerging talent within the team, which enables us to be very confident in our future.

“To secure yet more independent endorsement of our work in this area is very pleasing, particularly with Chambers and Legal 500 both citing our legal expertise and commitment to our clients, which is absolutely central to what we do here as a firm.”
