Leading wills and probate team wins further praise from Legal 500

The specialist wills and probate team at Sintons has been hailed by Legal 500 2018 for its expertise and outstanding client service across both its contentious and non-contentious offering.

The team was praised for its “professional, efficient and friendly” approach in dealing with complex matters for an impressive array of private clients, including high net worth individuals, farmers and rural businesses. It was highlighted for its ability to handle contentious matters “quickly and sensitively”.

Legal 500 pointed to its particular strength in handling matters which involve other jurisdictions, and its work in tax planning and asset protection.

Paul Nickalls, head of wills and probate, is again named as one of the leading individuals in the North, in recognition of his outstanding capability in handling matters of great complexity and “being excellent with clients…he responds immediately, taking action without delay”.

Sintons’ specialism in handling disputes and Inheritance Act claims was significantly strengthened recently through the recruitment of Emma Saunders, who moved from leading London law firm Russell-Cooke. She wins praise for her ability to “keep an eye on the detail of the matter while at the same time keeping the big picture and the client’s best interests in mind…she leaves no stone unturned when preparing a case”.

Alan Dawson, Chairman of Sintons, is once again recommended by Legal 500, alongside associate Paul Collingwood for his “very caring and responsive” approach. Dispute resolution partner Angus Ashman and solicitor Jonathan Grogan were recommended for their contentious work.
