Can you tell us a bit about your career to date?
I trained at a firm in Newcastle and spent the first 10 years of my career as a personal injury lawyer. I later made the move into licensing law, an area I found genuinely fascinating, and joined Sintons over 20 years ago to head up their licensing team. It’s been a brilliant journey watching the team and the practice grow over the last two decades.
What do you like most about working at Sintons?
Without a doubt, it’s the people. Being part of a large, supportive team makes such a difference — there’s a real sense of camaraderie here, and everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed.
What does your role involve?
I head up the licensing team, overseeing our work and making sure we continue to deliver the highest standard of advice to our clients across the sector.
What have been your personal highlights to date, both personal and professional?
Personally, having my two children who are both now at university: they’re really good company and fun to be around. Professionally, my biggest highlight has been acting for the main hospitality operators across the region. I’ve worked with many of them for nearly 30 years now, and over that time we’ve built genuine relationships and a real rapport — that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
What do you love most about living in the region?
Fresh air and big skies.
What are your interests outside of work?
Spending time with family and friends, enjoying the odd glass of wine, and keeping our puppy out of trouble — which, admittedly, is a full-time job in itself!
