Sintons’ IP specialism hailed by Legal 500

Sintons has won praise from Legal 500 2023 for its specialist intellectual property (IP) offering, which sees it working across a range of sectors nationally.

The team supports clients across the country in protecting and exploiting the potential of their IP, while also being able to handle disputes and contentious matters.

Legal 500 hails its particular strengths in technology and healthcare – which sees it advise major clients including NHS Trusts – and capability to handle complex matters.

Head of IP, Pippa Aitken, is named as a rising star in recognition of her “expertise” in brand protection and trademark portfolio management.

Partners Karen Simms, Graeme Ritzema and Hilary Waters all add additional capability to the team through their respective specialisms. Senior associate Chloe Dinsdale is also named as a key contact within the team.

Christopher Welch, managing partner of Sintons, says: “Over many years, we have developed our IP specialism and are now a highly respected name in the marketplace. We have strength in a range of sector areas and are able to advise clients from the very early stages of their business – even pre-launch – in how to protect their assets.

“Legal 500 has rightly recognised our capability in this area of work. Under Pippa’s leadership, the department has grown its presence and profile significantly, and continues to do so in both the public and private sectors.”
