The NHS at 70: Proud to work with such an iconic institution
Our National Health Service is often rightly referred to as being the envy of the world for its role in transforming the health and wellbeing of the nation over the past 70 years.
Since its creation on January 5, 1948, by the then Health Secretary Aneurin Bevan, it has brought together hospitals, doctors, GPs, nurses, pharmacists, opticians and dentists under one umbrella to provide services which are free at the point of delivery.
Healthcare has been made available to everyone, and we have world-class services and facilities which help save countless lives every single day.
Thanks to our NHS, we have seen huge medical advances and improvements to public health, many of which have been done at our world-leading hospitals in Newcastle.
While at present, the NHS is suffering from unprecedented pressures on its capacity and budget, leading to well-documented struggles for appointments and long waiting times in A&E departments, it is tackling the many challenges with characteristic resilience, with NHS staff across the UK remaining diligent and dedicated to the task at hand.
At Sintons, we have been specialist advisors to NHS Trusts, organisations and professionals for many years, and have become known as one of the leading legal advisor in this field, regionally and nationally. Indeed, Legal 500 have praised us for our ‘true healthcare specialism’, and we are ranked as being at the very top of our game by both Legal 500 and Chambers.
We understand the unique complexities the NHS faces and the fast-changing environment in which it operates. As long-standing advisors to major NHS organisations, alongside individual GPs, dentists and other professionals, we act for the health service on every level.
Our healthcare team encapsulates the entire spectrum of requirements for the NHS, from commercial contracts to real estate matters and construction, and has extensive experience of advising on some of the most prominent current topics in primary care, including GP Federations and mergers and new healthcare development projects.
We are hugely proud to be specialist advisors to the NHS and to have built up the relationship and reputation we have in this area of work. The healthcare team at Sintons are passionate supporters of the NHS and will continue to support it with its ever-changing new challenges and innovations.
