Sintons raise over £3,000 in two weeks for much-loved regional charity
An event which took participants on a tour of Grey’s Monument has seen law firm Sintons raise over £3,000 in two weeks for a much-loved regional charity.
Last Thursday, the Newcastle law firm hosted a tour of Newcastle’s famous Grade I listed monument to Charles Grey, treating participants to stunning views across the city and beyond, from the top, followed by a drinks reception.
The event, which, combined with a golf day held at Close House last week, were arranged to support the Percy Hedley Foundation’s Challenge 650 campaign which is part of the Foundation’s celebration of its 65th anniversary.
The inspirational charity provides a range of care and education services to disabled people and their families, and has worked tirelessly to improve lives since its inception in 1953, when it first opened its doors to 12 children with cerebral palsy.
Both the golf day and Grey’s Monument tour were organised by Sintons’ trainee group on behalf of the firm.
Keith Land, head of employment and long-standing advisor to The Percy Hedley Foundation, said: “Our tour of Grey’s Monument was a great success and offered the opportunity to climb the 40 metres and 164 steps to the top, which is something that many of the participants had never done before. Through two events, we have now raised over £3,000 for Percy Hedley, which is fantastic.
“My thanks go to the trainees for organising two really superb events, and to everyone who has come along and supported us and donated so generously to help support such a fantastic charity in its anniversary year.”
