Trainee solicitor qualifies into dispute resolution team

A young lawyer has secured a role at Sintons haven successfully completed her training contract and being rewarded with a position in the firm’s award-winning dispute resolution team.

Emelie Vardon, who has been a trainee at Sintons for the past two years, has now completed her studies and training to become a solicitor in the firm.

She spent the final part of her training contract within Sintons’ dispute resolution team – named dispute resolution team of the year at the Northern Law Awards 2019 – and has now been given a permanent role within the department, in recognition of her efforts and capability.

Emelie will specialise in contentious probate work, a fast-growing area of business for Sintons, with the team regularly being instructed in the most complex of matters across the UK. She will work closely with senior associate Emma Saunders, who is regularly cited as one of the leading names in the North of England to work in this niche area of law, to help grow the department further.

Emelie said: “Sintons has been a superb place to complete my training as a solicitor. I have worked alongside outstanding lawyers who have really supported my development, and I am delighted to have secured a permanent position within the firm. I specialised in dispute resolution in the final stages of my training so am particularly pleased to qualify into that department. Sintons handles work from across the UK, and has a very strong reputation for its ability to handle the most complex matters, and I have already learnt a huge amount. I look forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and capability in this area.”

Angus Ashman, head of the dispute resolution team at Sintons, said: “We have been very impressed with the contribution Emelie has made during her time with us as a trainee and are pleased to reward that by appointing her as a solicitor in the team. We have seen very significant levels of growth in the recent past, with continuing new instructions coming in from across the UK, and we are pleased to add someone of Emelie’s calibre to the department as we push on with our growth.”
