Sintons supports Ponteland United football club under 10s team
Law firm Sintons has continued its commitment to supporting grassroots North East sport by pledging its support to a children’s football team.
Sintons has become the sponsor of the under 10s team at Ponteland United, a club which comprises 37 teams across all age groups and is run on a voluntary basis.
The law firm’s sponsorship will allow the team – known as the Eagles – to purchase shirts, which will all feature the Sintons logo.
Newcastle-based Sintons has a long history of supporting grassroots sport. The law firm sponsors a number of local rugby and cricket clubs around the North East, and is also one of the main sponsors of the Esh Group Newcastle Eagles, which runs the nationally-acclaimed Hoops for Health programme in schools across the region.
Sintons’ commitment to regional sport also forms part of its CSR programme, which sees the firm and its staff actively working in the community to help good charities and voluntary organisations.
Mark Quigley, managing partner of Sintons, said: “We are well aware of the contribution a business likes ours can and should make to support the community in which it works, and we are always delighted to support good causes where our help can make a real difference. Our sponsorship of Ponteland United’s under 10s team – the second group of Eagles we support – is another example of that. We wish them every success with their season and are delighted to be involved.”
Alan Birkinshaw, secretary of Ponteland United, said: “We are very grateful for this support from Sintons. Running 37 teams under the Ponteland United banner on a voluntary basis is a substantial commitment from all our coaches, who turn up week in, week out to provide football opportunities for the children in Ponteland and the surrounding area. We couldn’t do this without the generous support of the business community and greatly appreciate Sintons’ sponsorship.”
