Sintons named among region’s top dealmakers

Law firm Sintons has been named as one of the North East’s most active advisors in the first half of 2018, in a period which saw the highest volume and value of deals struck in the region since 2009.

The specialist corporate and commercial team at Newcastle-based Sintons was ranked fourth for the volume of deals it has completed since January this year, with 12 transactions overseen.

Sintons – widely regarded as being one of the most capable advisors in the North of England – completed deals in a variety of sectors during the period, including manufacturing and property investment.

The analysis, by Experian, shows that Sintons maintained their ranking from the previous period, which covered July to December 2017.

The region as a whole recorded 129 deals worth a total of £2.3bn during the first half of 2018, 29 per cent higher than the 100 reported in the first half of 2017. Values also jumped by 234 per cent.

Karen Simms, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Sintons, said: “We are very pleased to again be acknowledged among the region’s most capable and in-demand advisors in this field. Our team is consistently rated as being one of the best in the North of England and has the experience and expertise to handle transactions of all complexities and values. The quality of our advice, alongside the excellent client service we offer, is what truly makes us stand out in a crowded marketplace.”

“The size and strength of our department means we have often unrivalled capability in many areas, including highly niche sectors like tech (including medtech), healthcare, leisure and renewables and have the specialists to offer the depth of advice that many of our rivals simply cannot. Our corporate and commercial team continues to grow, with ongoing strategic appointments to support our development, and we are very well positioned for the future.”
