Sintons confirmed as Newcastle Startup Week premium sponsor for a second year
Law firm Sintons has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting start up and scaling businesses by once again sponsoring Newcastle Startup Week 2020.
Sintons, a leading advisor to startup businesses, is a proud supporter of Newcastle Startup Week and became premium sponsor of the event for 2019, which it has renewed for next year.
The five-day festival, which has grown each year since being established in 2017 and is known for its ability to attract speakers and delegates from around the world, attracted over 790 people for its event in May, making it the biggest yet.
And already, organisers are predicting Newcastle Startup Week 2020 will surpass its achievements to date, with more venues and inspirational speakers continually being added to its line-up by founder and event producer Paul Lancaster.
Specialist lawyers from Sintons delivered a number of business-focused sessions at the 2019 festival including those focusing on intellectual property and investor readiness.
The Newcastle-based law firm is known as one of the leading advisors in the region in supporting the growth and development of startup businesses, with senior associate Lucy Carlin spearheading its significant growth in presence over the past year. The specialist team supports businesses throughout the North East and UK to achieve their ambitions, advising on the full spectrum of legal issues they will face from pre-startup to scaleup and beyond.
Karen Simms, head of company and commercial at Sintons, said: “As a proud supporter of the startup community in the North East and beyond, and a leading name in advising our dynamic and vibrant entrepreneurial community, we are delighted to again confirm our sponsorship of Newcastle Startup Week. This has become a key event in the business calendar and offers inspiration as well as practical support and advice to businesses at early stages of their development. This event has played a huge role in the development of our region as a place to start or grow your business, and has helped to put the North East on the map internationally.
“We look forward to working closely with Paul and his Plan Digital team in preparing for Newcastle Startup Week 2020, and to meeting the many inspirational entrepreneurs who are starting up and scaling their businesses in our region and to learning more about their aspirations and goals.”
Paul Lancaster said: “Over the past two years, Sintons have proven themselves to be the perfect partner for not only our annual Newcastle Startup Week festival but also our monthly Founders’ Friday events, where they provide masterclasses on every legal issue that a startup, scaleup or individual entrepreneur needs to know.
“I am consistently impressed by their in-depth knowledge, expertise and genuine support for the North East business community and am delighted to be continuing our relationship into 2020.”
