Former Scottish Parliament advisor joins Sintons
A solicitor who has previously been a key advisor to the Scottish Parliament has become the latest addition to the fast-growing team at Sintons.
Heike Stephenson moves to Sintons having spent over ten years working in the Scottish Parliament as part of its in-house corporate team.
Heike, originally from Germany, was the Parliament’s lead legal adviser on data protection, and led on a number of major initiatives.
She joins Sintons as a senior associate in the commercial team, specialising in commercial contracts, data protection and regulatory matters, particularly in the public sector.
Heike becomes the latest senior lawyer to join Sintons, which continues to grow through new key appointments to strengthen its team across all practice areas of the firm.
“I am very pleased to join Sintons, a firm which enjoys such a strong reputation across the North East and beyond,” says Heike.
“Its years of experience and expertise in supporting businesses and organisations truly makes it a stand-out name in the marketplace, and I look forward to working with the team to build that even further.”
Karen Simms, head of the commercial team at Sintons, says: “Heike is a highly capable and experienced lawyer, and the significant role she played as an advisor within the Scottish Parliament demonstrates in itself the quality and esteem in which she is held.
“We are delighted to welcome Heike to Sintons, at a time of ongoing growth for the firm through the addition of outstanding new legal talent in strategic areas of the business. We are widely known and highly regarded for our role in advising public sector organisations, and Heike’s experience of negotiating the landscape of such bodies at a national level will add even further to our expertise in this area.”
