Welcome to our Legal Services for Faith Based Institutions.

We have been trusted legal advisers for many years to major Faith Based Institutions including the Managing Trustees of the Methodist Church, the Church Commissioners for England, the Church of England Diocese of Carlisle, the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle, the United Reformed Church (Northern Province) Trust, the Presbyterian Church, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Gurdwara Temple of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Our continued depth and breadth of experience across the sector means that we are particularly strong in relation to ecumenical matters.

We have long established and extensive experience of acting for the Managing Trustees of the Methodist Church locally and nationally and we are delighted to have been appointed to their national panel of Solicitors in 2018.

We are panel solicitors for the United Reformed Church (Northern Province) Trust.

Laura Peace is the Diocesan Registrar for the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle and the Diocese of Carlisle. She is one of the very small number of lawyers in the UK qualified to advise on matters of church and ecclesiastical law for the Anglican Diocese.

We advise Faith Based Institutions on structural, governance, charitable, property and other legal issues.

Our work for Faith Based Institutions runs alongside our work for many other national charitable institutions and draws upon our considerable experience and expertise in charity law.

Our wealth of experience is detailed in the links on this page and we invite you to look through to see what we can offer to you.

We are a full service law firm established in 1896 with over 170 staff.
