The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) is an independent not for profit organisation fighting for the rights of injured people and providing accreditation for lawyers who specialise in personal injury law.
Approximately 3,800 personal injury lawyers are members of APIL and as a consequence agree to comply with a code of practice for the benefit of personal injury victims.
APIL runs an accreditation scheme which helps identify lawyers who are truly personal injury specialists. To obtain accreditation, lawyers must meet strict criteria regarding levels of legal knowledge and standards of client care. The accreditation process extends beyond individuals to firms and legal practices which specialise in pursuing personal injury compensation claims on behalf of accident victims and those suffering from industrial or occupational diseases.
