Voluntary Registration

Registration at HM Land Registry is now compulsory for most property transactions and is usually triggered on a sale or if you take out a mortgage.

If your property hasn’t changed hands for a number of years it may be unregistered and you will have ‘title deeds’ as proof of your ownership.
