Senior Associate

Specialising in: Personal Injury, Neurotrauma

Ewan is a Senior Associate in the neurotrauma team at Sintons. He joined the firm in July 2024.

Ewan qualified as a Solicitor in 2017 and his career has been focussed on helping clients with life changing injuries, primarily those with brain injuries. He has extensive experience in serious injury cases, particularly where clients require a large multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team, and he enjoys helping to facilitate these through the claim and mapping out a client’s journey to recovery.

Ewan’s past clients have commented that he is caring, hard-working and responsive.

Experience:

  • Ewan has over 10 years’ experience in the serious injury field
  • He is an accredited “Senior Litigator” and “Brain Injury” specialist with APIL in recognition of his skills and experiences in personal injury and brain injury litigation
  • Ewan has mainly worked on cases where damages exceed £1million but is equally adept in working on moderate brain injury claims, where there can be causation issues
  • Ewan is experienced in taking over cases from other firms. Ewan works carefully and tenaciously in building a rapport with clients and understanding their goals
  • Ewan has been a trustee with Headway Rotherham since 2020 and has been its Chair since 2021. Headway Rotherham are a charity catering for brain injury survivors in the Rotherham locality
  • Ewan is the joint coordinator for the APIL Yorkshire Region Group, facilitating seminars and webinars to fellow APIL peers in the Yorkshire region
  • During the pandemic, Ewan was inspired to create his own Youtube programme designed for brain injury survivors, interviewing those in the brain injury world and deliver it in an approachable manner
  • Ewan has experience in delivering presentations to clinicians in the brain injury world, as well as to colleagues in-house. In addition, Ewan has written articles for the Brain Injury Group such as “can you get an eating disorder from a brain injury?” ((https://www.braininjurygroup.co.uk/news/eating-disorder-from-brain-injury/), and then on how relationships in brain injury can be affected (https://www.braininjurygroup.co.uk/news/brain-injury-relationships/)

Ewan is ranked in the Chambers and Partners Guides in 2024, 2025 & 2026 as an “Associate to watch”. It was further commented in that guide: “He is thoroughly professional and works very hard to achieve success for his client”.

Outside of his work and trustee duties, Ewan enjoys spending time with his wife and twin daughters. Ewan enjoys running when he can and he loves football. Whilst Ewan doesn’t play football as much as he once did, he does make time to have a season ticket at Sheffield United, which isn’t for the faint-hearted but is “character building” in his eyes.
