Sintons wins contract with leading charity
Law firm Sintons has been chosen as the sole North East legal firm to work with the Child Brain Injury Trust, in recognition of its expertise in representing clients who have sustained life-changing injuries, as well as its ability to support families affected by such situations.
The Child Brain Injury Trust – a national charity which supports children, young people and their families to adapt to life after an acquired brain injury – has named Sintons as its Legal Support Service Provider for the North East region for the first time.
The two-year appointment, which takes effect on April 1, will see Newcastle-based Sintons working alongside families as their preferred choice of specialist legal advisors who can give unrivalled levels of legal advice and client care from the very earliest stages following a brain injury.
Sintons’ specialist neurotrauma team has built a reputation as being a powerhouse in the North of England, handling claims on behalf of people from across the UK who have suffered life-changing injuries.
The team was significantly strengthened last year through the appointment of consultant John Davis, one of the UK’s leading neurological injury specialist lawyers and former regional managing partner of Irwin Mitchell Newcastle, and is increasingly regarded as a go-to legal advisor nationally in the field of serious injury.
Sintons’ expertise in personal injury work was recently acknowledged by the Legal 500 rankings for the North of England, which hailed the firm as having “an outstanding team….diligent and client focused…unmatched in the region”.
John Davis said: “This is a huge coup for Sintons to be chosen by the Child Brain Injury Trust as the sole legal partner in the North East. We are known in this region and far beyond for our commitment to delivering an outstanding legal service coupled with an unrivalled personal client service, and to be appointed ahead of major competitors is a significant endorsement of that.
“I have worked alongside the Child Brain Injury Trust for many years and have seen first-hand the vital role they play in supporting young people and their families at what is a difficult and traumatic time in their lives. Sintons will aim to provide an extension of the work of the Child Brain Injury Trust, by providing bespoke advice and support to these families to help them to navigate the complex legal situations that arise following a serious brain injury and to secure the necessary financial and practical arrangements they require to adapt to their new circumstances and to safeguard the child’s future.”
Lisa Turan, chief executive of the Child Brain Injury Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sintons as our North East Legal Support Service Provider. John Davis was instrumental in the launch of our support model in Newcastle more than 10 years ago and understands the complex needs of children with brain injuries whilst having a good knowledge of the charity too.
“Sintons joins 12 of the UK’s leading regional law firms to provide our Legal Support Service, helping hundreds of families gain access to justice when a child has suffered a brain injury.”
