Law firm Sintons is again lending its support to a national road safety initiative which promotes the message that children should ‘be seen, not hurt’.
GloWeek runs from Monday to Friday this week and highlights the importance of road safety through an education campaign targeted at primary-school aged children, as well as a wider initiative to raise awareness of the issue, as well as generating vital funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust, the charity behind the campaign.
Alongside the practical message of GloWeek – which coincides with the clocks being changed and the earlier arrival of darkness – people are being urged to ‘glow’ in support of the campaign by wearing bright colours and glow sticks.
Sintons – a keen supporter of the Child Brain Injury Trust, which has raised thousands of pounds to help fund its work with children and families across the UK whose lives have been affected by brain injury – has again given its backing to the annual GloWeek campaign.
Its specialist neurotrauma team, which works closely with people across the UK who have suffered life-changing injuries, are spearheading Sintons’ photograph-led campaign, depicting a number of regional landmarks, including the Angel of the North and York Minster, being illuminated.
The team, whose legal excellence and client-centric approach saw them chosen as the Legal Support Provider for the Child Brain Injury Trust in the North East, will also raise funds through events including bake sales during the week.
John Davis, consultant in Sintons’ neurotrauma team and one of the UK’s leading serious injury lawyers, said: “GloWeek is a fantastic campaign which attracts a lot of interaction and attention, but the purpose behind it is incredibly important in promoting the importance of road safety to children and adults alike.
“Children involved in road accidents can often sustain life-changing injuries, so to promote their knowledge and awareness of road safety from an early age is a vital, and potentially life-saving, thing to do. The mantra that children should ‘be seen, not hurt’ is a very memorable and powerful message from GloWeek.
“We have worked closely with the Child Brain Injury Trust for many years and are always pleased to support their work and raise funds on their behalf wherever we can. GloWeek is another very worthy campaign and one which we would encourage everyone to support.”
