Sintons secures settlement following workplace accident

A man who sustained serious injuries in a workplace incident while unloading a lorry has been supported in rebuilding his life by specialists at law firm Sintons.

The man was injured while using a pallet lifter to unload from the back of a lorry, but the ramp used to access the vehicle was too small and the lorry had not been correctly aligned, leaving a significant gap between the loading bay and the edge of the trailer.

The claimant fell down this gap and suffered a catalogue of injuries, including extensive laceration to his left shin, an injury to his right knee which required urgent surgery and damage to his thumb and middle finger, all of which are continuing to impact on his life.

He also continues to experience psychological trauma from the incident, including stress, mood and sleep disturbance and anxiety.

Furthermore, his long-term employability is not yet known, and is dependent on his ongoing recovery.

The man, a Polish national, turned to the serious injury team at Sintons for support in making a claim and being able to access the specialist rehabilitation and support he desperately needed in rebuilding his life.
