Sintons secures settlement following workplace accident
The man was injured while using a pallet lifter to unload from the back of a lorry, but the ramp used to access the vehicle was too small and the lorry had not been correctly aligned, leaving a significant gap between the loading bay and the edge of the trailer.
The claimant fell down this gap and suffered a catalogue of injuries, including extensive laceration to his left shin, an injury to his right knee which required urgent surgery and damage to his thumb and middle finger, all of which are continuing to impact on his life.
He also continues to experience psychological trauma from the incident, including stress, mood and sleep disturbance and anxiety.
Furthermore, his long-term employability is not yet known, and is dependent on his ongoing recovery.
The man, a Polish national, turned to the serious injury team at Sintons for support in making a claim and being able to access the specialist rehabilitation and support he desperately needed in rebuilding his life.
The law firm, known nationally for the strength of its personal injury work, also has a dedicated Polish team to help support claimants in their native language, and was able to support the man in securing a significant sum to support his ongoing recovery needs.
“The service provided by Sintons has been exceptional,” said the client.
“They have been nothing but professional, understanding and helpful with my case. Everyone I came in contact with provided me with exceptional service. I want to especially thank David Knipe for the Polish team for the outstanding customer service and professionalism. They were the key to success in my case and I highly recommend Sintons to anyone looking for assistance.”
David Knipe, an associate with over 20 years’ experience of personal injury work, led the claim on behalf of the injured man.
“This was a wholly avoidable incident which has resulted in our client suffering significant physical injuries and psychological impact, the true extent of which may not yet have been realised, with doubt continuing to hang over his ability to work in the longer-term,” he says.
“We were able to intervene at what was a very distressing time for our client and help him access the support and rehabilitation he needed to enable the best possible chance of recovery.
“Our dedicated Polish team also played a significant role in this matter, delivering important information about the case to him in his own language, which gave him great reassurance and clarity during a very difficult period.
“We are very pleased to have been able to support our client in this matter and wish him the very best in his ongoing recovery.”
