Next month Sintons Partner Mark Quigley will undertake the Bond Turner Mont Blanc Trek in aid of Day One Trauma Support. The gruelling challenge will see Mark circle the highest peak in Europe and venture into three different countries over three days of demanding trekking.
Mark is preparing himself for the daunting physical challenge and says, “You never quite know how well your body will cope with the travel and walking at altitude so I do have a degree of apprehension, however I enjoy long distance walking, and it will be great to visit a place of such outstanding beauty.”
As Head of Personal Injury at Sintons, Mark has worked with charity Day One since their inception as an independent charity in 2020. The charity helps people come to terms with life-altering injuries – offering a raft of different kinds of support. Day One support workers are based in major traumas centres, and they connect with victims of trauma. The support workers’ tasks can vary – from signposting benefits entitlement to finding suitable accommodation; helping families access rehab and in the case of traumatic injuries where there could be scope for a personal injury claim, putting victims in touch with firms of solicitors, such as Sintons.
Mark is aiming to raise £3000 but this isn’t his first endeavour for Day One, which operates without any funding from the NHS or the government. He explains, “I, along with Andrew McGowan, have done similar challenges over the years: long distance walks and the Yorkshire Three Peaks so this is a continuation, although slightly more extreme!”
