Lawyers from the nationally renowned Neurotrauma team at Sintons are stepping up, running, cycling, and walking to raise vital funds for major trauma patients by taking part in Day One Trauma Support’s national ‘100k in June’ campaign.
Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is admitted to a Major Trauma Centre with life-changing injuries. Day One Trauma Support provides crucial practical, emotional, and financial help to patients and their families from day one of their recovery. To support this vital work, two Senior Associates from Sintons are pushing their physical limits across the UK and Europe this June.
Senior Associate Lewis Ayre will kickstart the month by tackling a grueling ultra-marathon. On June 6th, Lewis will take on The Priory Ultra, a massive 100km footrace stretching along the spectacular North East coastline from the historic Bamburgh Castle all the way to Tynemouth Priory.
Meanwhile, fellow Senior Associate Peter Stringer is taking the ‘100k’ challenge to international borders. Whilst on annual leave, Peter will be clicking up the miles across continental Europe—walking and cycling his way through Germany, Belgium, France, and Switzerland to ensure his contribution hits the leaderboard.
Lewis Ayre, Senior Associate at Sintons, said: “Working in neurotrauma, I see firsthand that surviving a catastrophic injury is just the very beginning of a long and difficult journey. Day One Trauma Support does an incredible job filling the gaps and helping families rebuild their lives. As someone who loves exploring our beautiful North East coastline, taking on the 100km Priory Ultra from Bamburgh to Tynemouth felt like the perfect—albeit daunting—way to support them. 100km in a single day will be a massive mental and physical test, but it pales in comparison to the challenges major trauma survivors face every day.”
Peter Stringer, Senior Associate at Sintons, commented: “I am delighted to support Day One Trauma Support, a charity whose mission completely aligns with our focus on early intervention and comprehensive rehabilitation. Even though I’ll be away on annual leave travelling through Germany, Belgium, France, and Switzerland, I wanted to make sure I was contributing. I’ll be packing my walking boots and cycling gear to clock up the miles across Europe. Catastrophic injuries don’t stop for holidays, and neither should our fundraising efforts to support those affected by them.”
Mark Quigley, Head of Personal Injury at Sintons, added: “At Sintons, our daily focus is ensuring that individuals who have suffered life-changing injuries receive the early care, therapy, and support they need to secure their future. Day One Trauma Support provides a lifeline to patients in Major Trauma Centres when they are at their most vulnerable. I am incredibly proud of Lewis and Peter for their dedication to this cause. Whether running 100km along the Northumberland coast in one go or tracking miles across four European countries on annual leave, they are perfectly demonstrating the commitment, empathy, and drive that defines our team.”
