Sintons will help 125 homeless people in the North East to keep warm this winter through the donation of warm clothing to North East Homeless.
The clothing will be given to vulnerable people throughout the region as part of the charity’s outreach sessions which deliver food and emergency equipment to those who need it most.
The charity – which began life as a Facebook group in 2014 and has grown into a significant regionwide organisation – has a hub on North Shields’ Fish Quay and runs a number of innovative initiatives to support local people, suppliers and businesses.
Having been part of the North East community since 1896, Sintons has been keen to play its role in supporting local people and charities for 125 years. Its donation of 125 items of clothing forms part of efforts to mark the landmark anniversary by giving back to others.
“Homelessness is affecting increasing numbers of people, particularly during these very difficult times, and the work of charities like North East Homeless in delivering outreach support on the ground is absolutely outstanding,” says managing partner of Sintons, Christopher Welch.
During such inclement weather conditions as we’re seeing recently, items to help people keep warm are in particularly high demand, so we hope our donation of 125 items of clothing will deliver much-needed practical support to those in need.
Throughout our 125 year history, we have been committed to giving out support to local people and charities wherever possible, and we’re delighted to be able to support homeless people and the work of North East Homeless during such times as these.
On Christmas Eve North East Homeless will also be providing around 200 Christmas Dinners at Newcastle Central Station.
