Sintons continues to support Esh Building My Skills project
Law firm Sintons is helping to inspire young people across the region with its involvement in an award-winning employability skills programme.
Sintons is a long-standing supporter of Building My Skills, the nationally-renowned scheme run by Esh Group, which helps to boost the skills, confidence and career prospects of young people across the North East and beyond.
A team from Newcastle-based Sintons is now set to deliver a number of presentations at schools across the region, starting from this week, with guidance and support being offered to help students prepare their CVs, submit online applications and understand the interview process.
Building My Skills works with scores of schools in the region, engaging over 11,000 students through its timetabled business engagement sessions which are incorporated into each participating school’s curriculum. The programme culminates in a regional mock interview day to help young people use the skills they have learnt during the programme.
Many businesses are involved in Building My Skills, which has won national awards including Business in the Community’s National Big Tick for Education Partnerships and the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association’s Inspiring Education Award.
Sintons has been a partner business since 2015 and has taken part in employability guidance sessions in schools across the North East, with numerous of its lawyers and support staff sharing their experiences with pupils.
David Pritchard, marketing manager of Sintons has worked on the project for a number of years and said: “Building My Skills is a fantastic programme which plays a central role in boosting the skills and confidence of young people across the region, working closely with schools to deliver sessions to pupils that are relevant and engaging and will be of genuine benefit to their education and career readiness.
“We are genuinely delighted to be a long-standing supporter of Building My Skills and to dedicate our time to supporting young people on their journeys into the world of work. As a responsible business which is well aware of our standing in the community, we are committed to ‘giving something back’ wherever we can.”
