Sintons act in Creative Support HQ move

Law firm Sintons has acted for one of the UK’s biggest social care providers to enable its move to its new head office.

Creative Support, which supports more than 6,500 people in more than 62 local authority areas across the country, has relocated its headquarters to Stockport, having been based in Manchester for the past 20 years.

The not-for-profit organisation, which operates throughout the UK including the North East, and has 5,000 employees across the UK, has moved into fully-refurbished bigger premises to house its 160 head office staff.

The new head office is self-contained allowing for closer inter-departmental working within its headquarters, helping to effectively support its operations throughout the country. The relocation will also allow for excellent transport links to their services across the UK.

Newcastle-based Sintons are the long-standing legal advisors to Creative Support, which offers services including supported living, supported housing and residential care. It works with people with needs including mental health, learning disabilities and extra care for the elderly, as well as running community and day services.

Sintons are responsible for the majority of Creative Supports lease work and other property transactions. Most recently they have acted for Creative Support during their acquisition of fellow care provider Delos Community in 2014, which strengthened its position at the forefront of the social care sector.

Alok Loomba, Partner in the Real Estate team at Sintons, and Associate David Naughten, handled the transaction on behalf of Creative Support.

Olivia Turley, property development specialist at Creative Support, said: “We have been working successfully with Sintons for five years on our property transactions, so they were are first choice when requiring legal advice for our head office relocation. Working closely with Sintons has helped enable a successful completion of our move.”

Alok – who leads the firm’s specialist care team, alongside commercial Partner Christopher Welch – said: “This move to enlarged premises was a big decision for Creative Support, having been based in its previous home for over 20 years, but is one which will allow the continued growth and development of an ambitious and forward-thinking social care provider.

“Working closely with our client, the transaction was completed meticulously to allow for the continued running of Creative Support’s head office functions, which are so vital in supporting the work of its team across the whole UK.

“Our specialist care team at Sintons works with businesses and organisations in the care sector throughout the UK and we have an enviable reputation for our expertise in what is a very specialist area. We are very pleased to work with Creative Support and to support them in another transaction which paves the way for their future growth and development.”
