Promotion and new appointments at Sintons

Law firm Sintons has promoted one of its senior lawyers to Partner while making two key new appointments.

Paul Monaghan, Head of Corporate Recovery and Insolvency (CR&I) at the Newcastle law firm, has become a Partner. One of the leading insolvency lawyers in the North East, Paul is hailed by Legal 500 for his “excellent all-round technical knowledge and breadth of expertise”.

His CR&I team has grown significantly in both reputation and capacity, and is now widely regarded as one of the most capable in the region. It has been now been strengthened further with the appointment of Matthew Holbrook, a solicitor who has been with Sintons since he was a trainee.

Sintons has also added to its development expertise with the appointment of Catherine Davies, a regionally known and respected Associate who moves from Ward Hadaway.

Catherine has been involved in numerous major projects across the region and beyond during her career. She joins Sintons’ Real Estate team, which is one of the biggest and most capable departments of its kind in the North East.

Alan Dawson, Chairman of Sintons, said: “At Sintons, we are committed to investing in and developing our people, offering career opportunities and progression. Paul has developed our CR&I team into one of the most highly-rated of its kind in the North East, so we are delighted he has become a Partner in the firm. Matthew’s appointment to the team will help increase its capacity, as well as its significant reputation, even further.

“Catherine’s appointment adds further expertise to our esteemed Real Estate department – residential development is an area in which we offer particular strength, and we are confident Catherine will help increase that even more.”
