North East builder named the best in the UK

We’re delighted by the success of Stone Homes, a long term client of Sintons who has seen off competition from businesses across the country to win an industry Oscar.

Alnwick-based Stone Homes, Northumberland, beat some of the biggest names in house building to be named the UK’s Best Small Builder 2014 at the prestigious WhatHouse Awards 2014 ceremony in London.

The company, which was founded in 2001 by husband and wife team Dale and Jo Robinson, has designed and built superior modern country houses across Northumberland, with current developments at Highmoor, Hepscott and Rennington.

Every home it builds is created to a bespoke design using only the finest interior and exterior materials and the company employs a team of master craftsmen, including carpenters, stonemasons, roofer and tilers.

In presenting Stone Homes with the Gold award in its category, the WhatHouse Awards 2014 judging panel said: “Wherever it builds, statements are made. Stone Homes by name and nature, built with character, charm and an extraordinary attention to detail.

“This is a house builder in love with its job and it shows. It is a worthy winner.”

Collecting the award from ceremony host, comedian Rob Brydon, at a glittering ceremony in London attended by around 1600 of the industry’s biggest names, Dale said: “We are exceptionally pleased and proud to have received this accolade.

“It is testament to the creativity, skill and expertise of our entire team – from our joiners and stonemasons to our architect and bank manager – and we are delighted to accept it on their behalf.”
