Seven new paralegals and two litigation support assistants have joined Sintons to provide additional support to specialist teams within the firm.
Sarah Yates has taken on the role of paralegal in the faith-based institutions team, which advises clients including the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle and the Church Commissioners for England.
Sarah has more than 18 years’ experience in law and has been a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives for over 12 years. She will be supporting lawyers who have established reputations as the go-to legal experts for churches, trusts and other faith-based organisations.
“The work that Sintons does in this area is fascinating and I am looking forward to playing a part,” said Sarah. “I’ve worked extensively in property law, which is something the team provides a lot of advice on for faith-based institutions so I know I will be able to put my skills to good use.”
Meanwhile, Sintons’ real estate team has welcomed paralegal Lucy Simpson, who graduated with an LLB in law from Newcastle University.
Like Sarah, Lucy will play an essential role in the firm, liaising with clients and supporting senior colleagues to resolve cases quickly and efficiently.
“Since graduating last year I’ve already had experience working in a commercial property paralegal role and I’m looking forward to building on that at Sintons,” said Lucy. “The real estate team here is growing and it feels like an exciting time to be joining them.”
Paige Robertson has been appointed as litigation support assistant in the firm’s personal injury department.
Previously, Paige worked within His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service, gaining first-hand experience in the legal system. Now, she will play a crucial supporting role throughout personal injury cases, working with clients affected by serious injuries.
Paige commented: “Working in court ignited my interest in pursuing a legal career and I’m studying law via the Open University. Getting practical experience in a firm that’s as highly regarded as Sintons is a brilliant opportunity and I’m excited to take the next step in my career here.”
Also joining the personal injury team is paralegal Isabelle Parkin who graduated from Northumbria University.
While at university, Isabelle carried out pro bono work in the Student Law Office and completed an internship with a Newcastle District Judge.
“After graduating I worked in personal injury law, supporting clients who had been involved in road traffic accidents,” said Isabelle. “It’s so important to me to get the best possible outcomes for people after a serious injury and I know this is something that all of Sintons’ personal injury lawyers strive for every day.”
Sintons’ specialist neurotrauma team is welcoming two new paralegals: Catherine Beeby and Frances Robson.
Catherine has several years’ experience working in the neurorehabilitation field with a specialist neurological therapy provider.
“Through my previous role I gained extensive experience of supporting clients with complex health and social care needs,” explained Catherine. “I’m committed to advocating for people with life changing injuries and helping them to achieve their goals.”
Frances has experience of working in a law firm on serious injury cases, including those resulting from road traffic accidents and accidents in the workplace.
“I’m looking forward to building my legal career with Sintons,” said Frances. “The team here is hugely experienced and I know I will learn a lot, as well as playing an important role supporting clients affected by serious neurological injuries.”
The firm’s Court of Protection team, which handles matters for people who lack the capacity to make decisions affecting their finances, health and wellbeing, is also being boosted with two new paralegal appointments.
Holly Robinson graduated from Northumbria University and said: “I’m at the start of my legal career and Sintons is by far the best place for me to learn and progress. The support the firm offers to colleagues at all levels is unmatched.”
Madeleine Smith, who received a first class degree in European Legal Studies from Newcastle University, will also support the Court of Protection team as a paralegal. “I studied in Italy for a year during my degree and am looking forward to putting what I’ve learnt into practice,” said Madeleine.
And finally, Clare Rowley has been appointed to the personal injury team as a litigation support assistant.
Clare has worked in the legal profession for 35 years and said: “I’ve built up a good breadth of experience during my career and will be putting that to good use, helping get the best possible outcomes for our clients whose lives have been disrupted by a serious injury.”
Chris Welch, Sintons’ managing partner, said: “Good paralegals and litigation assistants are invaluable and we’re lucky to have appointed some of the best. I’d like to welcome Sarah, Paige, Lucy, Isabelle, Catherine, Frances, Holly, Madeleine and Clare to the team, and I know all our colleagues will support them as they settle into their new roles.”
