Neurologic Music Therapy in Neurorehabilitation: An Introduction

The power of music in neurorehabilitation is to be explored at a seminar hosted by Sintons.

Neurologic Music Therapy in Neurorehabilitation: An Introduction will look at how the therapy is used to achieve positive progress in their ongoing recovery, and can deliver life-changing outcomes.

Elizabeth Nightingale, neuro services lead at Chiltern Music Therapy, and speech and language therapist Matthew Nakonesky from Speech Therapy North East, will be among the guest speakers.

The seminar marks the first of the 2022 series of events from Sintons’ specialist Neurotrauma team, which has a national reputation for its work in supporting individuals and families across the UK.

Andrew McGowan, head of Neurotrauma at Sintons, said: “As a specialist advisor working across the field of neurotrauma nationally, we are keen to share expertise and best practice with our fellow professionals working in this area.

“Neurologic music therapy is a fascinating concept, and forms a key part of the rehabilitation process. By engaging people with life-changing injuries in music therapy, the outcomes can be beyond all expectations, supported by the specialism and great commitment of the therapists.

“Elizabeth and Matthew are both highly-respected professionals in their specialist fields and we look forward to hearing from them, as they share their insight and experience with our guests.”

The seminar will take place on April 7, from 5.30pm to 7pm, with time for networking and discussion. The seminar itself will start at 6pm.
