Can you tell us a bit about your career to date?

I have been practising in the area of Private Client, specifically Will, Trusts, the administration of estates, IHT planning and Court of Protection, for almost 20 years. I trained in the South West with a large practice with a strong private client department. My training provided me with good exposure to trust administration and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals. I moved back to my roots in the North East 15 years ago and continued to specialise in this area.

What attracted you to join Sintons?

I joined Sintons to benefit from the firm’s broad expertise across many practice areas. Of particular interest is the growing rural team. Advising farming clients on their succession planning is an arm of my case load I very much enjoy.

What does your role involve?

My role involves covers a variety of work in the Wills, Trusts and Estates team. I enjoy working with the team, growing our technical expertise whilst priding ourselves in offering a highly personal and bespoke approach to the services we offer.

What have been your personal highlights to date, both personal and professional?

Growing our team with the addition of Brooke Jefferson, Solicitor. It is wonderful to see Brooke progressing with her career within the firm. She is a pleasure to work with. I have enjoyed introducing new clients to the firm from my existing contacts. It feels rewarding to be able to provide clients with a comprehensive service when working within a firm with such a strong offering of many specialist areas.

How does Sintons differ from other firms you have worked in?

It is larger than my previous firm. However, it does not take long to settle, to get to know people and to be made to feel very welcome, which can be difficult in a firm of our size. This emphasises our strong focus on how much we value our people.

What are your interests outside of work?

My three children keep me very busy. Their sporting activities quickly fill up my diary outside of work, leaving little time for me to squeeze in run or trip to the gym, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
