An HGV driver who sustained a serious cut to his arm while at work has secured a settlement of £63,000 with support from Sintons.
The man was injured while trying to release the rear shutter on his wagon, which had become jammed.
The driver, who had just completed his last delivery of the day, suffered a large, deep laceration to his right forearm which exposed both bone and muscle.
He was forced to undergo emergency surgery and was unable to return to work for over two years.
Now, following the incident in October 2018, the man continues to experience burning pain in his forearm and wrist, and has decreased grip and function in his hand.
He also continues to experience psychological trauma and has to live with a 15 centimetre scar on his arm.
The man turned to specialists in Sintons’ personal injury team for support in accessing the support and rehabilitation he needed.
