Head of Neurotrauma takes part in RideLondon 2022
RideLondon comprises a series of events, and was established in 2013 as an Olympic legacy event to help people celebrate and enjoy the benefits of cycling.
Team SIA is aiming to raise £45,000 through its participation in RideLondon 100, held on May 29, as well as raising awareness of spinal cord injury and its impact on the lives of those affected.
Sintons’ Neurotrauma team works with people across the UK who have sustained spinal cord injury, supporting them and their families to rebuild their lives with access to the bespoke rehabilitation and therapies they need.
Andrew, a keen cyclist, has taken on the RideLondon 100 previously on behalf of SIA, raising hundreds of pounds for the charity – a goal he aims to repeat for 2022.
“Through our work, we regularly see the hugely positive impact the Spinal Injuries Association has on people with spinal cord injury and their families, delivering vital support and intervention at times they need it most,” says Andrew.
“Through taking part in the RideLondon 100, Team SIA is not only raising vital funds which will help to sustain and grow its work, but is also promoting awareness of spinal cord injury and the huge challenges people face and overcome in their lives.
“I’m delighted to again have the opportunity to take part and to support the SIA in its work, and training is now very much underway with only a few weeks to go!”
