Jessica Fields

1st Year Trainee Solicitor

I am originally from Yorkshire, but after spending four years in Newcastle to study, I developed a real affinity to the area and knew it would be a great place to develop my legal career. I completed my undergraduate degree at Newcastle University where, in my final year, I was delighted to receive an offer to begin my Training Contract with Sintons in September 2023. I then completed my LPC at the University of Law.

Throughout my studies, I completed several legal work placements and participated in different volunteering schemes, which instilled a great sense of fulfilment and inspired me to pursue a career as a solicitor. I was therefore drawn to Sintons because not only does it provide high quality training across multiple fields of law, but it also has a strong commitment to CSR and is a very inclusive law firm.

In June 2021, I was fortunate enough to be invited to an assessment week at Sintons. I really enjoyed the varied tasks throughout the week and it was here that I experienced first-hand the supportive and welcoming culture that characterises the firm. I knew this was where I wanted to begin my career as a solicitor and so I was delighted to receive my Training Contract offer shortly after.

Although I had a two-year wait before commencing my Training Contract, I felt connected to and supported by the firm throughout. I was assigned a trainee mentor who invited me to several trainee socials and kept me up to date with developments at the firm. My first few days at Sintons were much less daunting as a result, as there were already so many familiar faces and I really felt part of the team straight away.

I am very proud to be joining Sintons and look forward to my future here.
